Most real web hosting companies have massive data centers that have hundreds of employees, triple power redundancy (in case of a blackout in the region) and 24-hour security staff guarding the facility.

When a local web developer claims that they also host web sites, they’re almost certainly just a middleman for a real web host. That means that they mark up the cost of hosting and pass it along to you. And it means that if your server ever has a problem, you’ll have to go to them and they’ll contact your host for you. Are they on call 24-7? Of course not. Another major disadvantage to using a web developer as a host — if you’re ever dissatisfied with their service, they control the server that hosts your site. Extracting your company from the relationship could be very difficult.

Social media marketing is meeting them where they are, developing relationships, building trust and sharing valuable content. And then promoting your product or service.

Social media marketing is not a short term solution, it is a long term investment. Because of this, we set the expectation that it will take a minimum of 6 months before consistent results occur.

But that varies depending on your industry type. A retail company selling $20 products will convert faster than a private education program that sells $1500 courses.

It takes time to build relationships based on trust and credibility with online audiences before leads turn into sales.

The definition will depend on what your organization’s objectives are—brand awareness, revenue, customer satisfaction, etc. But generally speaking, social media ROI is the sum of all social media actions that create value. After all the time, money, and resources put in—what’s the return?

So, if you made $1,000 in revenue from social media on a $500 investment, your profit is $500 (remember: profit = revenue – investment). And then your calculation would be: $500 profit / $500 investment X 100 = 100% return on your investment.
